Teen Dating Abuse Awareness
One in five teenagers will be involved in an abusive
dating relationship by the time they leave high
school. National Council of Jewish Women offers
youth groups and schools a free program that
helps teens learn how to recognize the warning
signs of potentially abusive relationships.
Teen Dating Abuse: Matters of Choice is a program
designed to promote awareness of:
- healthy and unhealthy relationships
- warning signs of potential abuse
- ways to help friends involved in abusive
relationships
- reasons a victim remains with an abusive
partner
- safety techniques to get out of an abusive
relationship
The program includes a video, Teen Dating
Abuse: Matters of Choice, followed by a
discussion and handouts. The video depicts a
teen dating relationship with evidence of emotional
control, isolation, sexual coercion, and some
physical, violence.

This new program is presented by the National
Council of Jewish Women – Arizona Section, a
volunteer organization working to improve the
quality of life for women, children and families.
Join us in our efforts to break the cycle of
violence so that everyone, young and old, of
any religious or ethnic background — can thrive
in a relationship that offers mutual comfort and
respect.
